Beautiful and friendly; that’s Ashton under Hill for you

Our Sales and Marketing Director, Bev Hall, takes us on a tour of Ashton under Hill; a gorgeous Warwickshire village and home to our Bredon Gate development.

“Beautiful and friendly. That’s how I’d describe Ashton under Hill after my walk through the village this morning.

What caught me the most were the breath-taking views on offer – whether it’s the Bredon Hills or the thatched cottages lining the streets, there’s certainly plenty to catch your eye.

I stopped at the playing fields and had a chat with a couple of local mums who had plenty to tell me about the area whilst their kids darted between the swings and climbing frame. It was lovely to hear them talk about the community spirit and how welcoming everyone is. It seems like Ashton under Hill First School is highly thought of and the kids are pleased to be back after lockdown. The Saltway – a public and very scenic cycle path – was a favourite of theirs for scooting and cycling on a Saturday morning. They told me that they regularly travelled into Evesham where there’s plenty of shops, restaurants and activities for all the family, and both Tewkesbury and Cheltenham can also be reached in around half an hour or less. You’ve also got Elmley Castle down the road; a picturesque chocolate-box village with some great walks. Whilst I was chatting to them, I also noticed a couple playing tennis on the court next to the field and two friends using the outdoor gym.

Walking away from the fields, I saw the epitome of neighbourly friendliness thanks to a former telephone box that was now being used as a library – utterly delightful!

I didn’t take much convincing to stop and have a look at The Star Inn. There’s some tempting speciality meals throughout the week (highlights for me were Wednesday pie night and Thursday curry night!). It’s great to have such a welcoming pub on the doorstep!

After the pub, I walked back past two of the local churches, football pitches and the secondary school, which I’m told is rated outstanding by Ofsted.

With all of this just minutes from Bredon Gate, what more could you want from your new home?”

We currently have a collection of two, three, four and five bedroom homes available to purchase at Bredon Gate, with prices starting from £285,000. Both Help to Buy andEasyMove are available. Find out more on our development page.
