We are delighted to reveal that we have been given the green light to build 115 new homes on the land off Pickford Green Lane in Allesley.
The decision was made at today’s (11th February) planning committee and our aim is to start construction at the site this spring.
Andrew Browne, our Head of Land and Partnerships, said: “It’s great news that we’ve been given the go-ahead to deliver these much-needed new homes for local people.
“Respecting the rural surroundings of the development, our aim is to create a village-like feel; building low-density homes in a variety of styles and including features such as a community orchard with picturesque seating area, a village square and public open space that can be used by residents and neighbours for socialising and exercising.
“At Piper Homes we strongly believe in delivering high quality and well-designed homes that people are proud to call home. Now that planning has been granted at Pickford Green Lane, we can’t wait to get started and look forward to welcoming our first homeowners towards the end of the year.”
The new development will include a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes, including some two bedroom bungalows, in a range of styles – all of which are bespoke house designs for Pickford Green Lane.
An impressive 34% of the development is being allocated to open green space and, where possible, existing mature hedgerows and trees are being retained. The existing pond on site, which is home to great crested newts, will also be retained and supported by new areas of natural planting.
The area being developed was allocated for a Sustainable Urban Expansion in 2016 and is located off the A45, with Coventry just a 10 minute drive away. The site is also likely to benefit from the wider Eastern Green Masterplan which proposes a new village centre within walking distance from the Pickford Green Lane site.
