Colin Lewis joins Piper Homes as Non-Executive Chairman

We’re delighted to announce that Colin Lewis, the former Chief Executive of Avant Homes, has joined our team in the newly-created role of Non-Executive Chairman.

Colin, who left Avant in April 2021, after 11 years (seven serving as CEO) and a successful sale of the business, brings over 35 years of property sector experience to Piper Homes, having also sat on the board at Redrow plc between 2001 and 2009.

A lawyer by trade, Colin’s leadership of Avant Homes saw the business listed by the Sunday Times as the UK’s 26th fastest growing private mid-market company in 2019.

In his new role, Colin will assist in guiding the business through its regional expansion as the business sets its sights on a 160% growth in output by 2023, aiming to be a top 50 UK housebuilder.

Lee Noble, CEO at Piper Homes, said: “The opportunity to attract someone of Colin’s calibre to our business doesn’t come around all that often, so we’re thrilled that Colin has taken on the challenge of helping us to shape the future of our business during an exciting period of future growth.

“Looking to commence on 12 new sites in the next 12 months alone, as well as launching our own affordable homes division, this year promises to be the most exciting yet for Piper Homes and we’ve no doubt our leadership team will benefit greatly from Colin’s expertise.”

Colin Lewis added: “Since leaving Avant, I’ve always said I’m keen to put my knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to good use if the right opportunity comes along, and that certainly feels like the case with Piper. The business has made real strides in the past 12 months, with ambitious plans for the future, and I’m eager to help its leadership team to maintain that trajectory in any way I can.”
