The Grange is located in Longborough, a traditional Cotswold village situated around three miles from both Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold.
Longborough is a charming village overlooking the Evenlode Valley, amidst some of England’s most beautiful countryside. The village has a community run village shop with its own cosy café and there is a full postal service available three days a week, via the Post Ofﬁce outreach service.
No proper village should be without a village pub and the Coach and Horses, which overlooks the village cross and serves home cooked food and locally brewed beer, doesn’t disappoint. The local school, the Longborough C of E Primary School is just a few minutes from The Grange and was rated “good” in the most recent Ofsted report. Originally built as a “Reading Room” for gentlemen only, the Village Hall now has a well equipped kitchen and welcomes a wide variety of activities including yoga, pilates, table tennis and snooker. The village also boasts its own purpose built Opera House with a 500 seat auditorium.
The nearest train station is just three miles from The Grange in Moreton-in-Marsh from where there are regular direct trains to Worcester, Oxford and London Paddington. Moreton is a thriving market town with a weekly outdoor market and an elegant High Street lined with Cotswold stone buildings which house many specialist shops, antique emporiums, tea rooms and delis. Stow-on-the-Wold is also just a short drive away and here you’ll ﬁnd a Tesco’s superstore as well as a wide range of independent shops, restaurants and cafés.
